Live in Style!

Say Hello in Style April 11, 2010

It’s a rainy, gloomy Sunday here in the Bay Area (egh, summer where are you?) so I’ve just been perusing some of my favorite sites and came across these incredibly cheerful new stationery cards from Jonathan Adler. I love the colors and patterns! They’re also blank inside making them good for almost any kind of note! Also new to the JA site are some free PDA wallpaper downloads, which are a fun way to get a touch of the Adler style without spending a dime!

Holiday stuff already?! October 22, 2009

Picture 7

As always, the holidays have completely snuck up on me and I’m in complete denial. While there’s a side of me that would love summer to last year round, admittedly there are still aspects of the holidays that are enjoyable and it’s amazing that with just a little Williams Sonoma mulling spice and a fire I can turn from grinch to a Jingle Bell Rock belting, mistletoe wielding bundle of cheer (actually that’s not entirely true, usually the belting comes after some generous servings of spiked egg nog).

Well no matter how you get into the spirit, one undeniable part of the holidays are Christmas cards. Every year I think I’m going to get something super cute and then wait until the last minute and get the same old generic cards. Well this year will be different! I just found these awesome letterpress cards from Pancake & Franks. I love letterpress and I’m really enjoying their quirky yet minimal designs.

Pancake & Franks is a local S.F. company that strives to promote sustainability by using only 100% post-consumer recycled paper and non-toxic soy-based inks for printing. So not only are their designs fabulous, they’re saving the planet one card at a time.

Check out their site, they also have some great b-day cards!

It’s old news that many think written communication is dead. But there’s still something wonderful about receiving a hand written note in the mail among all the bills, catalogs and discount coupons. There are so many beautiful cards out there, but I think these letterpress cards from Honeylux are a fun departure from the traditional while still being classy and fabulously vintage.

Honeylux is an Oakland based company. They print everything individually on a Golding Pearl Improved #11 press from 1908. In addition to handcrafted note cards they also create coasters and custom items.

So in these crazy, sometimes depressing times, drop your friends or family a quick note. I’m sure it will be appreciated.
