Rae Dunn

August 23rd, 2011 § 1 Comment

I came across Rae Dunn at a local shop here in Mill Valley called Maison Reve (on a side note, if you’re ever in MV this is a must visit, they have fantastic antiques and accessories. They are a bit pricey but it’s worth visiting even just for some inspiration). Ok, back to Rae, she’s a Bay Area native (yay!) with a background in industrial design. Her clay creations range from napkin rings to cheese plates and she also makes custom items like birthday dishes or wedding ring trays (pictured below).

What I think is so beautiful about her work is the texture she creates from the clay, which perfectly compliments her simple designs. Her neutral color palette makes it super easy to combine her pieces with any tableware and her sometimes cheeky wording adds the perfect amount of sass to any tablescape!

Jill Rosenwald Studio

I’m currently obsessed with these accessories from Jill Rosenwald Studio! Her designs are refreshing and fun and while a vase is going to set you back a little, I think they add the perfect splash of color to any room! Take a peak at the rest of her line at www.jillrosenwald.com it also looks like she’s having a sale on her Etsy site.

After reading her profile online, she also designs a rug collection for Surya. Here are a couple faves:

Hope you’re all having a fantastic day. I can’t believe it’s already August, where did this summer go?!

Just in time for summer!

May 5th, 2011 § Leave a Comment

It seems like the rainy weather has finally taken its leave and this mini heatwave has gotten me thinking about summer BBQ’s and lazy afternoons (or as lazy as they can be with a one year old running around…ok maybe I’m just happy we can be outside).

We have a few BBQ’s coming up so I was super excited to find these melamine Le Cadeaux plates at Tyler Florence. I’ve actually had my eye on these since last season and finally pulled the trigger. The white provence print works perfectly with the thread and berry pattern I have from Juliska.

The plates are a little pricey, but seem very sturdy and I have a feeling they’ll be used on many nights when it’s just me and Joe even if we’re not outside.

Dinner plates are $18.95 at Tyler Florence. While I love Tyler Florence’s shop, it looks like you can get them for less on Amazon.com starting around $15 with bowls at $10.99. That being said you have to pay for shipping online so it’s probably about even.
