OK, my husband can attest to this, I literally jumped up and down while cheering when I received the Barneys Warehouse Sale mailer declaring in all its glory that they’ve finally brought this amazing event to San Francisco.

Call me shallow, but I love this sale because the deals are so great. It’s hands down one of the best sample sales I’ve been to and one of the many things I miss about New York. I’m going this afternoon and will let you know if it holds up to its NY counterpart!

**Update** I was able to go to the warehouse sale on Friday. All in all I think it’s worth a trip even though I’m sad to say I don’t think this sale lives up to the New York version.

Pros: It was super organized for a sample sale, especially compared to the NY sale. It was kind of hilarious how west coast it was… everyone was really polite and no one was tearing things from the racks. That’s not a knock on the East Coast, it was just much more mellow than your typical sample sale. Admittedly, that was probably also due to the fact that I was there during a slow time. Things might have been more aggressive this weekend. I was also told they get a new shipment of items daily so if you can’t go until the end of the sale don’t worry, theoretically they shouldn’t be cleaned out.

Cons: I feel like while there was a ton of stock but not a lot of variety. DO NOT GO FOR ACCESSORIES. The selection is very slim and beat up, not worth the trip if you’re looking for a new purse or hat. The shoe selection however is pretty good.

Conclusion: I bought an awesome leather vest (I know that sounds ridiculous but it’s super cute), a Mike & Chris jacket (which I’m pissed about because they forgot to take off the sensor) a scarf and some shirts for my husband. I recommend going especially for jackets and fun tops. I’ll probably be going back later this week to get that damn sensor removed, so I’ll let you know if they got any more stock.

Second Hand Rose

Wallpaper has made a huge comeback. There are some amazing new patterns out in the market right now and if used correctly, they can really make a room unique and fun. While I’m loving these new styles, I don’t think all vintage patterns should be dismissed, there are some fabulous designs that have been discontinued. That’s where Second Hand Rose comes in.

Second Hand Rose represents the world’s largest collection of vintage wallpaper that spans from the 1860′s-1970 and includes everything from floral and geometric prints to Frank Lloyd Wright designs.

I’ve posted some of my favorites above (how cute would the vintage Peter Pan scene be in a kids room?), but check out the site and if you’re in NY definitely go in person!

Small Incentive to do the Dishes

I was visiting Tyler Florence in Mill Valley the other day (If you live in the Bay Area definitely check this place out. It’s like a way more fun Williams Sonoma with super cute dishware, specialty foods and extensive cook book collection. The fact that I like this place says a lot considering I don’t really cook…)

Anyway, in addition to all the fun stuff listed above, they carry the Daub & Bauble collection, which includes surface cleaners, hand wash, dish detergent, candles and hand lotion in 4 amazing fragrances. My favorite is the Mission Fig & Thyme scent. I also love their packaging and you can purchase the kitchen & bath caddy to complete the whole look!

I definitely recommend treating yourself to this small luxury, you’ll find yourself actually wanting to do the dishes just to smell the soap!
