The Pampered Pup

In one of her recent posts, my dear friend Molly over at Family Fabulous brought up an interesting solution to baby changing tables in small spaces … dog beds. I’ll admit this was a bit unexpected but totally makes sense and got me thinking about all the wonderful dog beds out there.

While I don’t have any kids, I do have my dog Lucy. Unfortunately, she’s 70 pounds and many of the beds out there can’t accommodate her, er… heft shall we say? (I need to choose my words wisely, I don’t want any doggy complexes) And much to our chagrin, she’s taken quite a liking to our own bed, which has led to a few sleepless nights lately, but that’s a different story for a different day.

Anyway, I rounded up some of my favorite beds. You truly can find any style from mod to shabby chic to lux hotel to uber-modern. The prices also vary drastically from $30 to the thousands! Regardless of price I thought some of these would be fun to share.

Who knows, if Lucy has a fabulous dog bed maybe she’ll be motivated to move to the floor. But that’s going to have to be a pretty special bed, I’m thinking something made out of dog bones… any suggestions?

Well… you could always go the route that many co-sleeping Attachment Parenting families go. Slide a second mattress up against your bed. A crib sized one should work perfectly for a 70 pound dog. :) Helps increase your bed space, and doesn’t force your bed buddy onto the floor. :D

That’s a really good idea! She’s a great cuddler and we love having her there, but the lack of sleep is becoming a problem. Thanks for the suggestion!
I am in love with the leather dog bed at the bottom – do you think I could find something similar in human size?! Great beds! Love them all.
my pup deserves all of these…xo t
